Skill-oriented universities are of special importance due to their key role in training technicians and expert personnel for various industries. Examining the title of the skill courses shows that the major and important part of the courses are workshops and laboratories, which play a role in preparing the students to enter the labor market and familiarize themselves with the equipment related to the field of study. In this article, we discuss the effective role of new technologies in skill training and express the challenges and opportunities of their application in teaching practical and laboratory courses. Then we introduce virtual reality, augmented reality and simulation as the most useful of these technologies and explain the effect of each of these methods in increasing the effectiveness of higher skill training and mention their advantages and challenges. We also present the results of some examples of the practical experiences of using these technologies during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study of the research conducted in relation to these technologies shows that despite the challenges, considering the impressive impact of these technologies in improving the quality of education and improving learning in Learners and their preparation for the future career, by addressing the challenges and taking into account the benefits, these methods can be used as an educational aid tool to improve the level of higher skill education, along with the usual training.
